Business Analyst

Location: Olympia, WA

Position Title: Business Analyst (BA)

One of our clients in Olympia has asked us to assist them in a high priority search for a Business Analyst. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. They want us to help them find the very best talent available. A description of the position is listed below. Our client is currently seeking a strong Business Analyst for a high profile project. The BA will be responsible for the following: •Defining the requirements development process and creating requirements gathering plans •Defining product vision and scope •Identifying user classes, selecting product champions and establish focus groups •Identifying use cases, business rules, system events and responses •Facilitating requirements gathering sessions/workgroups •Observing users performing their jobs •Examine problem/issue reports •Work with technical staff to verify, validate, and oversee how requirements are met in technical design, system builds, and testing output

The ideal candidate will have the following experience: •4+ years of Business Analysis experience in a software development environment •Creating context diagrams, using modeling tools such as flowcharts, data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams (ERD’s) and Unified Modeling Language (UML) notations •Creating prototypes, analyzing feasibility, prioritizing requirements, modeling the requirements, and creating the data dictionaries •Inspecting, reviewing, and validating requirements documents with customers and IT •Ensuring requirements are testable and drafting test criteria •Documenting and maintaining software requirements and version control of the software requirements specification (SRS) and all additional software requirements documents such as: context diagrams, flowcharts, data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, Unified Modeling Language (UML) notation, prototypes, and the data dictionary •Implementing document and maintaining the software requirements management change control process •Identifying requirements and documentation of those requirements •Demonstrating a high degree of technical proficiency in documenting workflows using MS Visio software •Using an Agile methodology •Developing requirements traceability matrices •Reading and interpreting project plans and Gantt charts •Working in a quality control capacity, preferably in a lead position. Experience in this capacity includes creating test plans, test scripts, test scenarios and responsibility for tracking reported defects in collaboration with the development team
