Sr. Software Test Engineer

Position: Sr. Software Test Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA

One of our best clients in San Diego is looking to hire a Sr. Software Test Engineer. This is a 6 month, contract-to-hire opportunity with our client. A description of the position is listed below.

Position Responsibilities: •Lead software test projects and report status to management. •Participate in scrum meetings.Provide task durations for software test activities to project management for incorporation into project schedules. •Drive efficiencies to improve process and technical implementations. •Track testing activities and assigned work for each release and help resolve issues that are escalated with the Project and/or release team. •Track testing activities and assigned work for each release and help resolve issues that are escalated with the Project and/or release team. •Act as a subject matter expert regarding the solution that is being built, determining how to verify that the solution correctly meets the requirements, and conduct testing to ensure a quality solution that meets or exceeds the businesses’ needs. •Coordinate projects and requirements across separate technical and functional teams to ensure effective delivery of solutions. •Develop a Test Strategy, Test Plan and then execute and carry out of the Test Plan including providing metrics and reporting for projects and releases •Participate in Release Testing, generates release notes and Post Test Reviews as scheduled. •Assist in the preparation of test plans and test approaches. •Ensure the proper execution of software test plans and test approaches. •Analyze requirements during the requirements analysis phase of projects. •Keep track of the new changes to requirements •Arrange the Hardware and software requirement for the Test Setup. •Create and send the Status Report (Daily, Weekly etc.). •Track and report testing activities, defects discovered and their status, etc. for each release. •Assist in performing any applicable maintenance to tools used in testing and resolve issues if any. Log all related issues in the defect tracking tool identified for the project. •Excellent time management and communication skills •Possess Technical background and an analytic mind •Operate with a customer-focused attitude

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related technical discipline. •7 + years’ experience with Software Quality Assurance, testing methodologies, and application software development processes. •Minimum of 4 years of programming experience with languages like Java or C# •Candidates MUST have at least 3 years of experience writing test automation •Minimum of 2 years’ experience validating and verifying software. •Experience with automated testing. •Experience in software testing and related areas of software quality assurance. •Understanding of good software development and testing practices. •Excellent oral communication skills for interfacing with peers in other departments. •Software development or test experience in medical device industry is a plus. •Firmware testing experience is a plus. •Familiarity with Appium, Selenium or NUnit is a plus. •Knowledge of server communications between mobile apps is a plus. •Knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging.
